When words alone don’t cut it

I cry through my fingertips. The uncontrollable buzz building in my chest, pouring out through my feet. My arms. My neck.

Everything has a rhythm and a pitch- the fridge door squeaking open, revealing nothing but barbeque sauce and carrots. This is a sad song.

Colors make sound. Leaves swirling around an empty parking lot. Black cats dying in the alleyways.

Music is an interactive journal, preserving more than just space and time, but the untainted memory of life itself.

Felix Wood:

Montana PROJECT 2021

This album was written during the transition phase of entering my first semester of college. During this time I felt lost and isolated, confused and conflicted.

The goal was to communicate these feelings, highlighting the imperfections and learning process, a metephor of the times

My favorite track on this album is Valley, written and produced with my two younger sisters and mom. This song was written as a message to another family member who we no longer see. A soft signal out into the universe hoping to be received, telling them that it’s okay to come back.

“your face is like the moon, peaking through the stars, and the darkened sky”
